A hacker got into my e-mail and used it for advertising! Help?

A hacker loged into my e-mail and used it for advertising his electronics business. Is there any way I can prevent this from happening again?

Are you absolutely sure that they got access to your email account? There are several ways of spoofing an address in an email without actually having access to the account. I had this problem a short while a go with spammers using domains and accounts from a charitable website that I maintain.

just close that account and create a new account!!!!!!!!!!!!!
