I’m a senior in high school and planning out what I want to do in college. I am interested in advertising because, in my opinion, it combines art and psychology (two things I’m interested in) along with marketing (a practical career option). But the college I want to go to doesn’t have an advertising major, advertising is under the communications major. So I planned on majoring in communications, but I’ve been thinking about it and since I’m shy and don’t have any interest in most of the things I think I’d learn in that major, I’m reconsidering it.
Should I major in something else, or am I wrong about communications?

Horaayy..there are 2 comment(s) for me so far ;)
You could major in Marketing instead. It would be more to the point, although you may not get into the artistic side of it much.
What college do you plan on going to? Most colleges offer marketing or sales and marketing under Business Administration. My major is sales and marketing I am a senior now. My degree can get me into a advertising career or many other careers in the marketing field. I would go for a Business Administration degree with a concentration in marketing. This leaves you with many more options.
Also most advertising jobs want you to have experience. I would do internships while you were in school.Their are tons of marketing internships.
