It doesn’t even show it in the example prompting you to switch. I consider that false advertising. I wonder if we all protest, can we do anything about it? I have switched back to original email because it is so annoying to have that ad reducing my viewing area.

Click the little black right pointing arrow to the right of the reading pane and the ad will disappear and you will have a larger viewing area.
Yes, this is the most annoying thing ever. I **** how even if you hide the ad, it comes back with almost any action in Yahoo mail.
Just created a gmail account.
Just got off the phone with “Johnny” from tech support. He said the ads are coming from AT&T. I asked him who I can contact to express my displesure and he directed me to:
I chose “harrasment” and sent:
STOP THE ADS ON MY EMAIL PAGE!
I’M PAYING FOR THIS SERVICE. I DO NOT CARE ABOUT WRINKLES, NOR WILL I EVER CARE ABOUT WRINKLES!
IN ADDITION THESE ADS CONSUME VALUABLE SCREEN REAL ESTATE!
ELIMINATE THE ADS OR I AM GOING TO CHANGE SERVICE PROVIDERS!
Yahoo email is the default service from my PAID ISP, (Pacbell.net) - I’m not using the free Yahoo email service. Because I have to pay for this service, rather than support it by looking at advertising, surely Yahoo is able to tell this from my email address, and let me turn off advertising, since I’m already paying for the service.
How do I turn off the advertising?? My dollars are already paying for my service, NOT advertising!!
I usually ignore those ads and proceed thru my regular works.
Those are the official sponsors of your Yahoo! Mail Service, which enables you to use the E-mail communication via internet free of cost or with limited cost. It’s out of your control to eliminate those from there.
