What is the best way to hand in a resume? Through email, in person, or via snail mail?

When handing it in, does it make a difference if the resume is in response to an advertised job or cold canvas?

Any other tips on handing in resumes would be useful too, thank you. :)

It all depends on whether you found the job as an advertisement or if you are cold canvassing. I would not recommend cold canvassing unless you are looking into lower end work such as retail, restaurant, grocery, or fast food. And those typically do not require a resume.

For those that do, follow their instructions in a posted advertisement. If it says to fax your resume, fax it. If it says e-mail, then e-mail it. Cold canvassing jobs that would typically require a resume usually is presumptous and often will not get past the receptionist.

Good luck in your job search!
