It turns out this person tried to swindle me out of my car. Who do I report this to at Yahoo….so that his email address is shut down and reported to the apropriate authorities?

If this person was trying to use a counterfit check or similar method, you can report any information you have to the FBI.
just email them and email them the email that was sent to you they will look into, Thanks to people like you hopefully we can all continue to help eachother stay safe. Thanks, Gweedo8
If you suspect fraud, you should report this
1. the police
2. report to yahoo. got the main page and follow the contact us. I think it is a waste of time, as Yahoo does nothing.
3. if it is retail fraud then report it to the consumer association relevant for your country.
Not knowing the full details, I suspect it is a Nigerian fraud scam. Happened to me, they tried to buy my car with a forged cheque, but I would not release the car until funds had cleared into my account. I got the bank to check if the cheque was genuine before i banked it and told them that I was suspicious of the people wanting to buy my car. I also reported it to the police, where I had to give a full statement.
