i recently went onto ebay and paid for 2 things which i thought would be books as it never stated anything different, the seller then sent me an email and attached were 2 files which were copies of the books, this is illegal is it not? not just false advertising in there listing but making gain on a book without actually selling the book. Any advise will be great thank you :o)
am i allowed to post a link so you can see for yourself ?

If they were copyrighted material scanned and resold, yes it is probably illegal in that format. Contact e-bay and the author

Find out if they are legitimate versions of the book and not illegal scanned copies. I have several electronic versions of books I legally purchased so its not an uncommon practice.

If it looks scanned then its probably bootleg. You will then need to contact Ebay and get your money back and begin the reporting process.

If they are legit look at the ad again and make sure you didn’t miss the part about them being electronic versions.

Good luck.
