Have compelling graphical designs in your ads, and be able to point to your work, portfolio, or web addresses you have created for. Are you advertising online, offline, or both? How are you planning to advertise? There are many factors to concider for any ad efforts but differences do apply for how you are going to go about doing it. send me an e-mail w/ “ads” in the subject, and I will guide you to some good sources that will help you an your way.

I am opening a recreation business, and have been reading a book called “Guerrilla Marketing” by Jay Conrad Levinson. It is easy reading and is very helpful in many different advertising ideas and plans. You definetely need a link to your site from any of your clients. Word-of-mouth advertising is by far the best and most cost efficient.

As a business man, who regularly gets called by people wanting to do web services for me, I can say that almost all their approaches are so far off that I won’t waste 5 minutes with them. So, let me tell what I would listen to. How their services will save me money, time and risk. At the end of the day, every business person makes decisions only these three factors.

Two examples:

1) The type of opening guarantees I will hang up:
“Hello, we have the {sexiest, greatest, newest, etc.} technologies. We do flash, PHP, AJAX, etc.” this is all about them and their wants; nothing about me and my needs.

2) I will listen for a while to this person. Notice that not one technical word was uttered. He talked about things that matter to me.
“Hello, I see you have a web presence and I believe that with little investment you could be doing a lot more business…”

Hope this helps.
