Why do people sell advertising e-mail addresses on ebay?

Why do people sell e-mail addresses on ebay , just today i saw this e-mail address (apple.iphone.shoppe@gmail.com) selling for 10 dollars, what is up with this cant people make there own e-mail addresses?

I think it’s not allow to sell this kinda information on eBay, right?
